The happy giddy bundle of northern that is Katy Cee

My first shoot of 2011 was with Katy Cee (www.karacter.pt), we were shooting a fashion editorial with a full team, so Katy arrived the night before the shoot so we could get an early start the following day.

That evening we decided to test out some bits for the editorial the following day,and to try out some movement ideas. Katy (having lost her make-up bag to the magical fairies) ended up barefaced with just some Vaseline on her eyelids, but we got some really good results thanks to her awesome naturalness.

Here's a few black and white images we took testing out different lighting set-ups. Katy rocks and was all up for fun crops and messing around with different ideas, which really helps creativity flow.

The editorial will be posted once published :D

Tara Liggett from Zoefest 2010

At the end of 2010 on my travels with Madame Bink, I decided to work with a few models at Zoefest. You've seen some of my shots of Keira Grant shot at Mission Beach. One of the other models I shot was the Irish beauty Tara Liggett. It was a different experience shooting in Oz, having no team for the shoots, just walking along beaches, rocks and coastline casually finding spots to shoot in.

There's something so relaxing about taking portraits and art nude; something I don't find in Fashion or Beauty work.

Tara had seen some of my fashion work and wanted to get a couple of fashion shots from her time in Australia so we managed to get some by the pool.

Elegy Ellem came to visit from Sweden...

Ellem came to visit and it ended up being one of my last shoots of 2010.

Sometimes I realise how lucky I've been with my photography, I've travelled the world and I've worked with models from more countries than I can ever remember. So it's nice when models visiting from abroad take the time out to come visit. Elegy Ellem was visiting from Sweden and dropped by to hangout and shoot some Lady Lucie Latex and some new images for her portfolio, as she's changed a lot since we first worked together, and is a lot more experienced.

To see more of her creative work, check out her website: http://elegyellem.se

Whilst Ellem was over Madame Bink also had the beautiful Ivory Flame visiting for their Harmony of two work. Lady Lucie had sent so many clothes for me to shoot that we decided to shoot a little Christmas treat of Ellem, Flame and Binky from Team Binkertson.

Inspiration of the Month: "Marc Van Dalen and Carlos Nunez"

Inspiration of the Month: "Marc Van Dalen and Carlos Nunez" a double inspiration special...

What better way to start 2011 than with some browsing around for inspirational images, it was thanks to a model sending me a link that I stumbled upon some works by Marc Van Dalen and Carlos Nunez. These images are just the sort that have been floating around my mind for a while, and are definitely a style that I'm looking to shoot more of in 2011.

Both photographers have great fashion nude shots. To me fashion and nudity go together like fish and chips, for whatever reason it's just meant to be. There's something about mixed nude/fashion editorials that tick so many boxes for me; I think my dream publication would be shooting an editorial for a magazine like S Mag.
